Weekly Success Tip

Last week I suggested when it comes to making money, there are two paths you can follow.

One is to follow your head, the other is to follow your heart.

To follow your heart means, it all starts with what really 'juices' you in life? What is it that turns you on, that enthuses you without effort, what excites you just to think about it 24/7, and dare I say it, what are you passionate about?

For me life is not just about making money, it's about making a difference. In fact, if I just made money and didn't make a difference, I wouldn't do what I do. You wouldn't be reading this right now. Alternatively, if I just made a difference and didn't make money, I couldn't do it either. If you want to spend your life making a difference and being truly fulfilled, you are going to have to find something that does both.

For me it's about creating awareness and educating in a way that creates instantaneous behavioural change. I just love it when I see people's lights go on... that light bulb moment when you know you have pulled someone from apathy and ignorance onto a path of growth and ever expanding possibilities.

For you, it's really about answering the question: "What would I do even if I didn't get paid to do it?"... and then finding a way to get paid to do it.

I was fortunate in my early soccer career to be coached under the former Australian Football coach, Mr. Frank Arok. I feel that anyone who ever witnessed Frank coach could just feel his passion for the game. He taught us to 'make love' to the soccer ball, it was like a dance. He used words I never heard anyone use before to describe the 'beautiful game'.

I even heard a story one time that if Frank was ever driving somewhere and happened to see some kids playing soccer in a park, he would pull over, get out and start coaching them from the sidelines! He just couldn't stand to see the 'beautiful game' played poorly and it was in his blood to help where he could.
 
Not surprising really that he became our national coach.

So what is it that's in your heart, that you just have to do?
What is it that keeps you awake at night because you're so excited?

You see, every one of us has our own talents, and most of us misunderstand what the word talent means. At its essence the word doesn't mean that you are good at something. The reason, most of the time that you are good at one of your talents, is because you are so passionate about it. You're fascinated by it, just like Frank Arok was fascinated by the flow, magic and dance of soccer played well. The things that you are fascinated about are the gifts that you were given when you came here to this planet.

Now there will be people reading this page right now that don't know really grasp what I mean by living a life of fulfillment. They just want to make money and that's all they are interested in. And then there are others that understand what I am saying and think, 'Yeah, you know I don't care if I make a dime at this. I've just got to get this message out there. I can't sleep, I've just got to do it.” IF you get this, you are one of the people that will really change the planet.

Now, those that don't understand this concept of doing what you love will change the planet in other ways. They'll make the money, and then take the money and do what they really love to do.

Like I said, frankly it doesn't matter which path you take, in terms of making the money, but if you really want incredible fulfillment from what you do you'll find it works to do what you really love to do every day.
