A note from Stuart Zadel
26 May 2009
Dear Friend,
I'm pleased to say I have started exercising twice a day at the moment, probably more in an effort to keep myself sane, than get fitter! To put it mildly, things are busy... and I love it. When I run I get a chance to clear my head and reflect on things.
This week I've been in a 'generating PR' mode for the new book and the new events and it never ceases to amaze me the number of working parts that have to come together on the day, for it all to function. I think it best summed up by Robert M. Pirsig, author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, "Precision instruments are designed to achieve an idea, dimensional precision, where perfection is impossible. There is no perfectly shaped part of the motorcycle and never will be, but when you come as close as these instruments take you, remarkable things happen, and you go flying across the countryside under a power that would be called magic if it were not so completely rational in every way."
Here’s to a little bit of magic in Adelaide this weekend...

"Economic advantages may be created by any person who surrounds himself with the advice, counsel and personal co-operation of a group of men who are willing to lend him wholehearted aid, in a spirit of perfect harmony."

Weekly Success Tip
Think and Grow Rich in Property 3
Over the past couple of weeks I've been reaching into my new book, Think and Grow Rich in Property, to show you just a few of the many pearls it contains.
Now, on the eve of its official launch, I want to tell you about my motives for writing it in the first place... Appropriately, it all started with Napoleon Hill, the genius behind the original publication of Think and Grow Rich. One of Hill’s key principles for success was that of the Master Mind, which means finding the smartest people you possibly can to help you along the path to success.
He wrote, "No individual may have great power without availing himself of the Master Mind". Hill contended that it's impossible to find success entirely on your own – nobody yet has made it to the summit all by themselves.
It may seem that men like Richard Branson, Bill Gates and Dick Smith all reached the top of their respective industries alone but nothing could be further from the truth.
Sir Edmund Hillary will always be remembered as the man who conquered Mt Everest and the image of him, standing alone at the highest point on the planet, will echo through the ages.
In reality, though, it was far from a solo effort and Hillary would be the first to admit it... There was an entire team of Sherpas behind him, all of them expert mountain-climbers, who pushed him to the top.
To achieve genuine success you need to accept your own limits and realise that the only way to get where you want to go is to enlist the help of others who can bring a wide range of skills to your team.
That's why when I decided to produce a book on property investment, I knew that I would have to gather together the sharpest minds in the industry. And that’s exactly what I did.
My own knowledge of property is reasonable but I can't possibly compare it to the combined brain power of the seven experts who wrote for the book, all of them self-made millionaires who are leaders in the field. Together they can turn anybody into a real estate mogul and getting them all between the same covers was a major feat, of which I'm extremely proud.
Best of all is that none of them followed the same path to the top – and some of them suffered serious falls along the way – so they've each got a unique perspective, allowing you to compare their various approaches and decide which one is best for you.
John Donne famously wrote, "No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main."
It's true that no man – or woman, to bring the seventeenth century poet into the age of political correctness – can stand on their own but what he didn't mention was that you get to build your own continent.
You select the people you surround yourself with in the same way that you choose whose advice to follow.
Learn to recognise a Master Mind when you see one and you will already be well on your way to success. Check out the property Master Minds I've already assembled and you'll know exactly what I mean.
