A note from Stuart Zadel
21 July 2009
Dear Friend,
Finally life can get back to normal now that Master Chef Australia is over! Congratulations to Julie, Australia’s first Master Chef winner and also to Poh the runner up.
Interestingly, it was Poh that gave me the critical lesson from the final and I’ll share it with you in a moment.
Before I do, here is a photo that a friend of mine snapped when he was out and about in Sydney the other day...
I’ve got to admit this guy’s got good tastes when it comes to reading, and I really hope he takes on board the critical lesson I got from the Master Chef final.
Those of you that watched it will know that it came down to the final between Julie and Poh. After two challenges, with only 2 points separating them, it all came down to who could best replicate a very technical plate of chocolate dessert creation, a signature dish of famous Chef, Matt Moran.
They were both given the same recipe, the same ingredients, the same equipment, the same time and the same instructions and advice by Matt himself.
However about half-way through something incredible happened. Did you see it? Can you guess it?
Poh decided to deviate from the recipe! Not once, but twice. First when making the decorative chocolate swirl, and despite being explicitly told not to freeze it, Poh decided to put it in the freezer. She also deviated in another part of the chocolate preparation, completely disregarding what the recipe said to do.
Then, in the judging... surprise, surprise, her chocolate swirl was nowhere near as shiny to look at and didn’t have the right ‘snap’ to it when broken. She went on to lose the final and miss out on the $100,000 first prize and book publishing deal!
Remember, there’s usually a huge difference in rewards between first and second place in any calling in life and the critical lesson here is; if you have a system that is tested, tried and true, proven to work, follow the system step-by-step! Leaving out just one step, one piece of the puzzle can lead to disaster. Just like the book Think and Grow Rich, the 13 steps are designed to work together. You can’t just pick one and not the others, you need the whole system to be effective.
I also learnt and felt that Master Chef has been more successful than the producers could ever have imagined. Sure it’s been a ratings winner, but more importantly, it has really inspired people all round the country (including children), back into the kitchen, cooking with fresh ingredients. It could well turn meal time back into a family event for many, and this ‘processionary effect’, is where the side-effects of what you do are often more important than the original goal.
I’ll explain how this applies to you and creating wealth in more detail, when you come to one of my upcoming Ultimate Think and Grow Rich Cashflow events.

Weekly Success Tip
This week's success tip is not a tip, but some questions.
These five questions come straight from the Think and Grow Rich Self-Analysis Questionnaire For Personal Inventory and I think it’s high time you answered them.
In fact, write them out, then answer them...
1. Have I attained the goal which I established as my objective for this year? (You should work with a definite yearly objective to be attained as a part of your major life objective).
2. Have I delivered service of the best possible QUALITY of which I was capable, or could I have improved any part of this service?
3. Have I delivered service in the greatest possible QUANTITY of which I was capable?
4. Has the spirit of my conduct been harmonious, and co-operative at all times?
5. Have I permitted the habit of PROCRASTINATION to decrease my efficiency, and if so, to what extent?
ACTION STEP:
Set aside some quiet time in the next 24 hours to write out your answers to these questions.
Book yourself into one of our final Cashflow events this year while you still can.
