A note from Stuart Zadel

28 July 2009

Dear Friend,

I love Melbourne!

To me it’s a fantastic city and I was fortunate to enjoy my weekend there. The city precinct and surrounds are just so close and well laid out, it feels like a big play-ground to me... and play I did!

I went to the MCG twice in two days. First, I went Friday night general admission to see Collingwood vs Carlton. To my left I met Paulo and his mate who had been supporting Carlton for 35 years. On my right was Narelle and her two young daughters who drove down from Ballarat, real die-hard Collingwood supporters, which made for a fun and interesting night!

Here's the first video...

Then on Saturday, I returned to watch Geelong vs Hawthorn with my mate Adrian, this time from the comfort of the MCC members lounge and front-row balcony seats.

Take a look at the second video:

Which brings me to my point...

There were two ways to see the football that are somewhat related to your financial position. Let's not kid ourselves, money definitely makes a difference to the way in which you get to enjoy the football, and for that matter, the game of life. At the end of the day though... as with my experience at the football, money only does two things; It makes you more comfortable and it enables you to provide or enjoy more service.

If you’d like to be enjoying the benefits of money... you’re going to need some, so I suggest you book yourself in now for our next Cashflow conferences.

Weekly Success Tip

This week's success tip comes from Think and Grow Rich In Property, courtesy of Mr. Creative Cashflow, Rick Otton.

The majority of self-made millionaires in any country are new immigrants.

New immigrants can’t go back to the old country, so their backs are really against the wall and they have to deliver results to survive. They have ideas, perspectives and habits from the old country, not the new country, so they automatically think differently to everyone else around them. They don’t have a group of “that’ll-never-work” friends, influencing them or holding them back or trying to get them to stop thinking differently. They don’t have anyone to lose face in front of. They didn’t grow up being told the same version of “that’s-just-the-way-things-are” as all the people around them.

As a result, they ask obvious or awkward questions that others don’t; they challenge unquestioned processes and accepted conventions. They find a better, more efficient way. They think differently and do things differently. They’ve got nothing to lose – not money, friends, reputation, status... not anything. And usually they do have themselves and their family to take care of, and everything to gain.

With no fall-back plans they have to make it or die trying.

It’s never too late to think like a new immigrant...

ACTION STEP:

When it comes to thinking, we’re also talking about beliefs. Here’s one of the most important exercises and questions you can ever ask yourself.

Write out this Question: What would a person have to believe (think) to have a ___________________________ like mine?

Then fill in the blank with the areas of your life you want to improve.

Some examples may be: Body, Bank Account, Life, Partner... you get the picture. You’ll need to create some space and time to complete this. Those that do will be in for a pleasant discovery.
