A note from Stuart Zadel

Dear Friend,
‘I love a sunburnt country... filled with gold and precious ore’ is how Dorothea Mackellar OBE may have started her famous poem had she been at Hill End in the 1870’s (Jo, in our office, just informed me that Dorothea wrote it on a verandah in Bathurst in the early 1900's).
85kms out of Bathurst, I visited Hill End on the weekend and discovered it is said to have been the richest gold field in all Australia, probably the world.
Today, the surrounding landscape is strewn with open mine shafts, the locals are tight-lipped, and new technology has seen the mining recommence.
In fact, one local assures me, there’s more gold there... than was ever taken out.
Check out Hill End in the video below:
As exciting as that sounds, the reality is that it's back-breaking, hard physical work. And even if you found some gold, you'd have to keep digging to keep making money.
You'd in fact, be trapped in a job, and a dirty one at that. What you want is freedom... so check out this week's success tip below.

Weekly Success Tip
Last week we spoke about how cash is not an investment. Even if you are earning interest in the bank, once you factor in tax and inflation, chances are your money is losing value.
A far better investment would be to focus some time and energy on developing passive cashflow streams. An example of this is rents from property, dividends from shares, or profits from business.
The challenge here is that traditional methods of investing in these usually require huge sums of money to get started in the first place and therefore a high degree of risk. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
There are two major shifts in thinking I’d like you to make.
1. First, stop focusing on making a million dollars. I’d much rather you focus on making $100, $200, $500 a week passively. Find ways to generate smaller sums of money. A good way to do this is through selling products, rather than services.
2. Second, stop trying to re-invent the wheel. I once knew a guy who wanted to develop some energy generation device that worked off the earth’s magnetic fields and somehow would produce unlimited free power. I’m no genius, so can admit I didn’t understand it, but I know he hasn’t done it in the nine years since he told me, plus he has a family to support.
If he was serious, to my way of thinking he needed to produce passive cashflow now, so he can free himself up to dream big like that.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for green power, but what I think makes much more sense is the guy I saw selling an eBook on how to make your own solar panels for under $200. At US $39.95 a pop, if he sells just 10 a week online, that would probably cover a large part of his living expenses and free up his time. At 20 a week he could be totally free from ever having to work again.
All this could be achieved with little or no expense and within 12 weeks.
ACTION STEP:
Make a list: What products could I sell to make $500 - $1,000 per week without working?
Of course we’ve got the world’s best to show you how they do it at our upcoming Cashflow Conferences...
